David Davis
David Davis has been a member of the municipal community for more than fifty years, giving legal guidance to many communities as their city attorney. Davis has also served a General Council for the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund, a retirement system that serves multiple municipalities, there employees and retired employees. He is a forty-six-year member of the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys.
Davis was presented the Time in Service Award from the City of Piedmont for his contributions of its employees and volunteers through various service awards including the Civic Service Award, Volunteer of the Year Award and Time in Service awards. The City of Bethany recognized Davis for the Public Service Award for meeting the service criteria and ethical standards of their support role for delivering outstanding customer service to internal and or external clients.
The Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys honored Davis through their Recognition Program for his municipal law practice, municipal law fundamental training, OAMA training, proof of continuing educational requirements, and mentorship program participation.
His service on the board of directors of the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys has provided both small and large communities with highly specialized municipal law guidance. His expertise in municipal law provides more than 18,000 municipal participants the highest representation on the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund Board of Directors as its General Counsel. Davis also volunteers as a frequent trainer and mentor to fellow municipal attorneys. In addition, he frequently conducts training in conjunction with the Oklahoma Municipal League Annual Conference.
Davis works Pro Bono for Catholic Charities as well as the Vietnamese Community. He volunteers through Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and is a volunteer trainer to prepare all materials and conduct trainings to help defray the cost of training for municipal attorneys throughout the state. His knowledge of law, combined with his exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, has been invaluable to all organizations he has served.
